Roso picks his Hatrick Hounds under the Friday Night Lights
My Mini Me won at Hatrick on July 25th and finished second here last week to Thrilling Gordon. Can she go one better tonight in Race 2? Roso thinks so. Photo Credit: Wanganui GRC
2 Big Time Kimetto
Was second for a long way when resuming over at Manawatu on Tuesday. 7 No Visual & 6 Maple Leaf ran past him but he should strip fitter & the shorter trip will suit at this stage of his campaign.
Selections: 2-7-6-5
8 My Mini Me
Had her chance when a short-priced favourite at Manawatu. May have been a touch flat after reeling off some super sectionals over 520m here last week. Won a maiden this course & distance in a decent time. Staying with. Quadrella anchor.
Selections: 8-2-6-7
5 Big Time Zip
Was surprisingly run down last Friday after leading. That was her fourth run back since a break so staying with her in a competitive field.
Selections: 5-8-2-3
2 Claws In Sparky
Has been in fine form on the horseshoe tracks. Good record here too so should push the local favourites.
Selections: 2-4-7-5
5 Big Time Messi
Hasn't raced since late January but has been trialling well for some time & looks primed for a strong resumption.
Selections: 5-6-4-8
2 Romantic Rebel
Can be rocks or diamonds & it was the former the last time he was on this track in June after a poor start. Can be better off the box & will need to be to hold out 7 More Magic & 5 Zestful. Strong heat.
Selections: 2-7-5-3
3 Boom Dynamite
Group one winner on this track should dominate this heat if he can see off the 4 & 6 angling across in the early rush.
Selections: 3-6-7-8
7 Stuck Throttle
Cracked the $100k barrier with his Manawatu win. Runner-up in a group one race the last time he was on this track.
Selections: 7-8-3-4
4 Grande Vue Ace
Has gone nine starts without a win & is on her farewell tour to wind down a great career but she returns to her favourite track & is the defending champion.
Selections: 4-6-5-7
5 Chief Dribble
Was beaten as a $1.30 favourite the last time he was here in December but he had excuses & he returns in sparkling form.
Selections: 5-4-6
2 Big Time Axel
Slow starts have cost him winning chances of late but has been powering home & still has the goods to handle this class of race. Might need the top four in the quaddie though.
Selections: 2-6-7-4
3 Fire Warning
Had to work harder than expected to post his fourth consecutive win on Tuesday. Was superb here last week. Anchor.
Selections: 3-5-8-2
Best: Big Time Messi
Next: Fire Warning
Value: Big Time Zip
